Good result, but why do you have to make everything you do sound like it's something incredible?
Is it arrogance or do AU owners feel they have to talk themselves up because of some sort of ugly car complex?

I never said what I did was incredible. maybe I harped on about it more then most but never made my car out to being something it wasn't.
Au's are ugly but all that is put to rest once on a race track, once you've been there only a SUPRA, PORSCHE, GTR SKYLINE, EVO 9, WRX STI or car of the like will ever tickle your fancy. TYPHOON would be nice to from the later BLUE oval products .

f**k, thats a bit of engine work, time and money for 170rwkw!

Oh well, i know if i spent thousands on a motor, i'd personally want more than a mid 14 out of it.

17kw increase from just a blueprint (port, heads) aint to bad. The rebuild only really cost $6,500. Before you do sink my ship I've still got one more outing to Calder Park, If I don't get flat 14 then you can toast me lol.

My bog stock T1 manual made 166rwkw... So you are 10 up on an iron headed 200kW 5.0 running standard everything and a old Ryco air filter.

If you are happy with the way the car performs, and can justify your outlay then great... BUT IMHO I'd want a bit more go for the $6,500.

A 220 let alone a blueprinted one would masacre your poor old 200kw mate. Hopefully I'll be able to prove a point on Friday. I'm personaly more then happy with the result and have a motor that can be flogged for 200,000 km, unlike most buildups here. Did I mention anything about fuel economy LOL

^dont wanna sount like a C*** t2, but after the impression you give people and how your build progressed, I doubt you will impress anyone here unless you put up a dyno and/or put up some 1/4 times that would justify the $$$ spent on your build. So far there is nothing to paint a picture making you out to be anything except a laughing stock. 1st of all with your boasting about how good the combo would be... then locking antlers with everyone here about who knows more and whos got the faster engine, and then disputing thier proven times. Then munching your engine... and does 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Reverse *BANG* ring a bell?

Cmon man, resist the urge to dig the hole deeper and deliver something!

edit: for the record, i envy your 12.5l/100km economy. Id kill for that right now hehe.

You won't "massacre" a 200kW with your "blueprinted" 220... Perhaps I should "blueprint" my engine and prove a point to you.

On the fuel economy, I'd like to point out that I just filled my tank with 59L of fuel. I reset the trip meter every time I fill up and had done 528km on that tank. If you do your sums correctly, that equates to 11.17L/100km.

I have read this and got a laugh or 2 LOL.

Now it seems to me he has spent a bit on the bottom end, now one thing you young guys prob don't know, HP is actually cheap but reliability isn't!

Can you justify a V8 Supercar engine being worth $100k plus for 650 odd HP?
Oh but my mate built 650 hp for $20k! Well lets see how long it lasts when he punishes it.

Yeah yeah i know he has wanked on a bit about this thing, but if you want a nice strong reliable engine then you have to spend cash, you can get anything to go fast on a budget, but it won't last long!!!!
Also add in the fact that if you're paying someone to do this, the cost goes through the roof, doing it yourself ends up a lot cheaper, but then if you don't have a bit of knowledge behind you then you wont get far.

Just out of curiosity, would a different cam be worthwhile????

I having a stockish cam might be the next area that could be improved on??

Maybe something a little more aggressive and a tune might make it a bit more potent but still have manners and economy.

I would have put in a Ford Motorsport E-303 cam in there, but its not std ECU friendly.
