What crank was used to stroke the 5.0L to 5.6L on the T3s?

I guess it would be possible to turn a EL 5.0L 185kw engine into a 5.6 like that found on the T3s.

What would you need and where would you get it? IE heads, stroker crank, cam, etc

That would be quite nice in an EL XR8 having a T3 motor in it.

Yes you can turn your 5L into a stroker liek the T3, you need a 347 stroker crank, new rods and new pistons to match. There are plenty of kits around which come with all the parts required and cost $2-3k all up. You wil also need some machining of the block to get it all fitted.

www.vpw.com.au or your local machine / speed shop..No point in wasting $$ on a forged crank in roller block..Get internal ballanced assembly...

Machining of the block is to allow for crank clearance right?

Do you have any links to these kits?

He is just pointing out that many people go to the big expense of a forged crank when even the cheap cast cranks are stronger than the late model roller blocks.

Ohh I thought maybe they are not compatible or something. I thought he was referring to upgrade the rollers to something better.
I'm a bit of a dumb dumb when it comes to the internal components.
I would like all the parts to be durable because I would only modify it once and it would be a daily driver.

Hey Timmeh!

Definantly go for it. I'm building one up at the moment, hence the sale of my GT40P heads and Cobra manifold and the move to some better breathing components to keep up with the extra capacity.

Mine will also be a daily driver, they are very durable, streetability is more to do with choice of heads, intake and cam.

Unfotunately Gaz my insurance wont let anyone under 21 drive my car.

I was going to keep my Explorer manifold and get some steel GT40s. I dont want it too wild just pretty much the same as the T3s.
This wont happen until after I sell my Fairmont and probably a year after that at the least because the wife will be watching my wallet when it comes to cars after buying the XR8.
