Thanks for the tips guys. As I said the gearbox was good up until rescently. My last box (same one) had wicked input/mainshaft end float and pissing out oil from the input shaft.
T5's are weak!!!!!!!!! The casing is just too flimsy!!!!! That 347 will mince that box, come back to me after 20 odd runs

Tis why I'm like WTF~!! about the TE50 and the T5. If my baby stroker motor can wreck a T5 that thing ought to be able to shred the s**t out of it.

Leons TE50 hasnt seen the strip before though, no real shock loading, only in gear acceleration, that alone has started twisting it.

1. Dead stock I took this thing to a 14.35 (with me 100kg, sunroof etc). Only one individual has gotten quicker and that was an au3 xr8.

2. My car has 180RWKW and 420NM ATW UNTUNED!!! with no trick aftermarket components. Get off the weed man

Edited by Timmeh

is every thread just a chance to bring this up?

as was said earlier, get it replaced asap before you do further damage to the box

I'm not having a go, so please don't take this the wrong way. Now that you've got 180rwkw out of it untuned, which you're obviously happy with, after getting the gear box fixed (google gforce transmissions) why not get it tuned where you should easily be seeing over 200rwkw? Not to mention a promising increase in torque and fuel economy.

Haha Timmeh, classic.

Seeing as though t2te50 likes to change every thread he posts in to how his car makes 180rwkw untuned!!!, i may aswell discuss it in here.

Im with Scaffy, why not just get a full tune done on it, possibly crack 200rwkw, have much better driveability, safe AFR's and your biggest factor......better fuel economy?? It really doesnt make sense that you dont want to tune it, just seems like you use it for an excuse for shocking quarter mile runs and dyno figures.

Tune it man!!! You wont regret it!! Think of the fuel economy!!!

I recommend a tune. I got 60rwhp from untuned to tuned.

Smoother to drive, better economy and no more backlash in your threads.

So what oil and exactly how much were you using?

The T5 capacity is 1.9L and is to be used with ATF with an additive.

Dex3 with molybdenum synthetic additive (grey stuff) and .5L 90/140 LSD oil. The gear oil really does quieten the mainshaft/countershaft bearings down once box is worn in.
And it will definitely stuff your synchros!!! Why on earth would you mix LSD gear Oil with Dex 3? Some of these boxes use Needle Rollers. Good luck with your bearings & synchro's.

Transmax Z is the go t2te50. Green stuff it is. Its ATF like the manufacturer recommends and its fuly synthetic.

Get you gearbox fixed and then put that in it. Trust us all.

I know guys everyone has told me that I'd see substancial gains. The question is whether I want them to thrash the crap out of the car to obtain these numbers? NO!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm happy with what I've got, more torque then power increase but definitely alot better then before. I'm heading out for the test and tune on the 14th to Calder Park. No ifs or butts, 100mph is the goal.
Nice to get some positive feedback people. THANKYOU (sincere).
