Atm all i've done is pull all mufflers out of the zorst for a bit more noise and it ran up 182hp@whls completely stock. I then cleaned the throttle, maf and egr which gave me a fair bit better response

BTW-that dyno run was with a slipping clutch.

But as the sig suggests, there is a whole lot of work being done

Mod's are dependant on money.
The mod's are almost unlimited, you need to decide on the order.
Starting with a good exhaust sytem is the best place to start, Extractors all the way to the tails.
1.7:1 rollerrockers are good also.

Then look at cam, chip, tb, injectors, maf, etc. As these ideall need to bought or at least fitted at the same time. Each part is dependant on the other. Also compression needs to be decided!

I learned the hard way and have a lower overall figure. My engina only has 313rwkw, it should have more by I was to interested in making power than getting the right combination.

Hey 4.9 futura... A while ago i notice you have auto, what's the go with that i mean wouldn't it be better with manual, im aware that the 5 speed EL may not cope with power delivery but why not change it to something tougher?

I think you will find cost is the main issue. A tremec 3550, which should handle the power of a blown 5l will set you back a lot of $$$$. The stock auto if kept cool will normally cope well and IMO is easier to launch and get consistant results with.

my baby is a 180k ef Fairmont ghia, K+N panel filter, 4 in cold air intake from the lower left spottie mount, lukey extractors, 2 1/2in single from the cats back, and a unichip. she has made 134.9rwkw at C+V's dyno and run 15.780 at 88.2 mph. Not bad for the little out lay. Originally made 109rwkw and 16.5 for the 1/4

I have an EF Fairmont auto, with 3.23 gears, 3" mandrel bent Lukey cat-back exhaust, BPT 'Stage 1' underdrive pulley, 76mm MAF and 65mm TB.

Haven't had it dyno'ed with the new TB which probably won't make a difference, but it made 118rwkw then. I ran it on the strip 2 weeks ago, ran 15.47 @ 89mph.

My EL XR8 has under drive pulleys fitted and a 75mm TB which I am putting back to the stock 58mm cause everyone is telling me its losing me power cause its too big.

Its the 185kw version so I have Explorer manifold already and ELGT extractors.

Soon to have AU XR8 220kw heads fitted along with the cam about mid January.
Nothing else will done unless I need tuning.

eb v8, gt40p's, explorer, 65mm t/b, mafless, microtech ecu, crow cam, hurricane headers, 3in exhaust, 3.9lsd.

that should be how mine reads in a couple of days. explorer is going on as we speak. ran into a couple of small issues and then ran out of daylight. anyone who has done the explorer conversion, please check my thread in the v8 section and offer what help you can.

car was dyno'd at touch under 163 with h.o. manifold. after adding explorer and 65mm t/b am hoping it can get close to 180rwkw.
