Gday guys, I did a search to try and find out why my thermo's are staying on but didn't come up with anything really concrete, so i figured i'd ask if anyone on here knows why this happens? Never had a problem before i took the engine out and rebuilt it, now there on all the time and my auto is in limp home mode. Not good any help is much appreciated, cheers.

Sounds like a lack of trans oil temp signal to the ECU.

Pleased to report both problems are fixed, the thermo sensor on the manifold has a broken clip, has since been replaced and is working fine. Jacked the car up tonight to find a plug on the auto had come loose, also a broken clip, damn ford and there s**t clips, will replace on the weekend but the box is shifting fine for the minute aslong as the clip doesn't fall off.

Dont replace the plug.
Silicone it in. you can still remove if if need be. The silicone will hold it in permantly.
