I'm not in a position at the moment to do anything, but like the looks of the Pursuit 250.

I've already got the 302 and have been thinking about stroking it, but then I figured why not upgrade to something that's already stroked. It'll save me a lot of time and hassle and I'll have something newer at the same time. Then I've got a better base to modify on.

As nice as a 351+ci would be, it'd end up being a huge pain in my a***.

Ah ok, i thought you had been researching finding just the engine itself to drop into the EL.
I like your thinking though, you've got the 5 seater family car now, so a Pursuit250 would do you just fine.
The Pursuit250's are the ONLY thing that would make me want to sell the ute and get, but i just cant bring myself to it. In your case though, i think you'd be silly not too

That engine from waliston had more than a cracked timing cover....the block was cracked too.

Cranks are the same, the difference is in the .020" overbore.

Yeah, the missus asked why would I want a ute? We don't go anywhere in my car now anyways and if I do go anywhere with anyone, there's only usually someone in the passenger seat. Also, I think the utes are considerably lighter than the sedans. The spec page I was looking at had the Pursuit 250 only 50-odd kilos heavier than the EL

when i worked at ford, i found a manual/ introduction on these engines for when they 1st came out. tells me that the crank was balanced with the balances and flywheel on the t3's.
Has alot of other technical info too!

He still got a good deal... The induction setup alone WHEN you could get it through Ford (via back channel dealings) was over $5500 trade.

We had a whole T3 intake setup here for nearly 3 years, eventually someone decided they wanted it badly enough, and parted with $3500.
