Ticking noise from behind Tacho on NF Fairlane 5.0..?

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me out....My Tacho started to make a ticking noise 2day...it sounds like a relay or somthing behind the dash and i read the How2 on the diagnostic test, but i dont really know how to use my multimetre properly as I would like to reset all the error codes and start clean so if anyone has any clues or suggestions feel free..
