Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get some trickflow products a bit cheaper in AUS. prefer in NSW but aus wide will do if there is a big enough saving.

Just looking at getting manifold and heads from trick flow.

Also could someone tell me what the diff is between the street and track manifolds?

cheers

BEN

Do some research on bringing them in from the US. Even after the high postage costs, and insurance and import tax it most times works out cheaper than sourcing locally.

Their heads are great, manifolds are good for forced induction, not so great N/A. Ask TrickflowEL, has used their gear for a while.

Yeah i have heard that about the heads, but not the manifolds. although it prob wont effectme too much, im sure i will feel the difference with the heads and the manifold on compared to the stock set up, and i will be going forced induction in a year or so hopefully anyways.

And that is wierd about shipping them in from the states is cheaper than buying locally. i would have thought it would be a litle cheaper buying them here, but i suppose they prob dont sell too many of them really do they.

I willl look into it further tonight, cheers for the help, and any more suggestions and help would be great.

cheers

BEN

As you know from my mods I'm doing I bought my gear from the states and here are the tips for importing.....

Anything under AUS$1K including postage comes straight through customs,
Over AUS$1K and on car parts you have to pay 10%GST and 15% Import duty (only the 10% GST if motorcycle parts).

So what you can do is get them to send the heads individually so they come under the $1K mark or find some trader in the states to falsely declare the value of the package.. :D :D

so if under $1000 no GST or Import tax

Over $1000 u pay GST and import tax? that right?

so could u order say the heads eg. $999 delivered and on a seperate order, mnaifold $999 delivered, i wouldnt have to pay GST or import tax, or once i go over the $1000 on all orders combined ( once thier combined, i would have to pay GST and IMPORT as soon as it goes over $1000)

Also this maybe a stupid question, and i pretty much know the answer, but just wanna clarify.
if i got different brand heads and manifold as sompared to heads and manifold of the same brand, would it make iny difference in the performance? so would trickflow heads and manifold work and perform the same as say trickflow heads and edelbrock manifold (just a example manifold brand, could insert any brand)

ANyways just a question.

And also Do u reckon the trickflow are value for money, and rate well against the other products on the market. I will be wanting power down low-mid range as opposed to high end power.

cheers

ben

sorry for the extra questions, prob been covered plenty of times, but i was half way through the post when it came to me :)

1500 for RPMII. EGR and TB is a great price including gaskets. I paid 1100 for My RPMII only but that was before the A$ got a little better on the exchange.
I think form memory TrickflowEL changed back to a GT40 intake, as the Trickflow was a little lacking in the low end torque range. I read a Mustang and 5.0 recently that compared the BBKSSI, RPMII, Holly Systemax and the Trackheat. The RPMII was the only manifold to make 450hp at the flywheel and had the most torque everywhere. It was also only 459US so i feel it is the way to go.
