Got the TFSI cam brand new for $320 - can't complain about that. Now lets just hope for no p/v clearance issues

Would anyone know the answer to my last question on the previous page? I'm very keen to know if I would or would not have a drama.

AU III 220kw engines and the T3 250kw stroker engines both got the same heads with the larger valves. Earlier 200 and 185kw XR8's and all other AU V8's got normal GT40P's.

If you have the normal GT40P's it will be less likely that you will have PV clearance issues, however I would still check.

Ahh okay thanks. While I was hoping that I could slip anyone of these three cams in with their matching roller rocker's and have no dramas, it's better to find out now that there may be PV clearance issues rather than later on when something breaks and it gets expensive. Appreciate it.

Well the more I think about it the more I believe the Crane 2030 cam is what I would like to have with the rest of my mods.

What I need to complete the camshaft addition are roller rockers and reinforced valve springs.
Would these Crane parts be suitable for the 2030?

or

http://www.cranecams.com/index.php?show=browseParts&action=partSpec&partNumber=96872-16&lvl=3&prt=123 with some matching retainers etc?

Am I looking at the right parts or do you guys have better suggestions for me?
What else needs to be changed at the same time?

Well those rockers you listed are 1.7 ratio, the 2030 is designed for 1.6's. I have Crane 1.6RR on my engine and they are fine but I would look at the Yella Terra stealth range, they offer some good advantages over many of the other brands (ST2027 for 1.7RR, ST2046 for 1.6's). The Crane 44308-1 spring/retainer kit is decent, I know many people running them. The 96872-16 dual springs look fine too, I would just make sure no machining was required and they would clear the rocker arms. Also have a look at crow cams 7738 springs and 11700XR8 retainers, I run these and they seem great.

Oops, I listed 1.7 rocker arms. That wasn't intentional as I am aware from this thread that 1.6's are what is required for the 2030.
I should have put up this P/N: http://www.cranecams.com/?show=browseParts&lvl=3&prt=106&action=partSpec&partNumber=11746-16
But I will look into Yella Terra now and see what matches.

Incidently, because the engine has 115K on the odometer, is the timing chain the only other item that should be replaced? What about lifters etc?

Yeah I would change the timing chain, everything else should be fine. Lifters are roller so they don't wear and generally dont need replacing. If you want to you can dismantle them and clean them out.
