Nothing that can't be overcome, but a donor car is the way to go. Otherwise buy a AU with a v8 in it already. Cheers ToranaGuy

pretty sure if you were to drop a V8 in a standard v6 falcon, you'd need a new trans, and some heavier shocks and springs in the front.. because the raw power of a high rev from a v8 in a stock trans would probably do it no good and eventually destroy it.. but then again im not sure if the au trans is already suited to v8s... something to be mindfull off i'd say

You will need the v8 trans, as the 6cyl trans won't work.

Unless your connected at the hip to your current AU I wouldn't bother. Sell it and get 4k back and invest it in either a AU1 XR8 for 6k or a AU2 XR8 for 9k-10k.
It would probably work out better fianancially aswell let alone the hassle saved. e.g. the other day when I was at FordPro wreckers at smithfield he had a 220kw Windsor there and wanted 3k for it. I know they can be had abit cheaper but they aren't the easiest to find.
