Just some pics of what happens when you bed a new cam......
This is how the pipes looked after 2 mins at 3000rpm, only 18 minutes to go....Then I have to install the proper springs....

Ok, there is no need for heat shields because when the engine normally works in the 2000 plus range there is a huge mass of air moving over the pipes, as the car is moving.
In the photos case, there is no air movement because the car is stationary, and it has to run at 2000 plus rpm for 20 plus minutes to bed in the cam. Its all normal.

Jeez.

2 minutes at 3000rpm and they got that hot. It had some serious a/f issues. Glad it wasn't my motor :D

Is the cam a roller ?

With 76 and 81's in a 750D/P I would have assumed fat enough, timing is good, just a s**t load of air moving really.
Cam is a solid, no need to bed a roller.

Good pic of it, all the ones I've taken/seen always turn out purple for some reason.
This is the CHI topped beast I presume?

No actually, I got very little response to the EOI for the engine, and in chatting with the engine builder, we thought bugger it, lets get the f**ker going harder whilst the big one is being built, to pass the boredom, so down to a block in the bay, some more porting of the exhausts, new valves, springs, retainers, guides, seals, valve job, guide plates, studs etc with a now solid cam, and an active 2V intake.
Should see a good hike in power, and hopefully into the very low 12's

Double check timeing... Retarded and alittle rich will cause unburnt fuel to burn on manifolds....

Yeh, I found my 4L pipes would glow red on the Dyno at 'cruise speed', generally when the mixture was too rich.

And as SteadyED said, the photos turned out purple!! :P I think its to do with the fluro lighting in workshops, perhaps 347stroker doesnt have overhead fluro lighting where that picture was taken.

Gaps all good, was retarded a little, all good now though.
Took it for a drive earlier, found that it wont drive straight at speed in second gear, unless both feet are under the seat. Its some good fun.
Has bags of wheelspin everywhere, although I really have found the limitations of the fuel system. It falls over pretty hard in top.
