EF2 Ghia.

I currently have a Redback 2.5 Single Y back Exhaust, with I centre Resi, and Hotdog at rear.

One of the main reasons I got this car, funnily is because I just love the sound of the trusty little Windsor!!

Now I am not happy with the sound, it does not burble enough or sound loud enough at low revs like I have heard some.

Should I remove the Hotdog, and replace with 2.5' tubing?

OR

Will doing this make my V8 sound like a MACK TRUCK as it done to my EB2 4L 6??

OR

Just do it and keep Hotdog, and weld back on if sounds like crap??

You could contact Racetec Modifications in Dandenong as they can sort you out for exhaust mods and knowledge as well as custom fabrication.

Go with a single 3" and a Genie Tornado straight through muffler with nothing else if you want loud.

I had a 2.5 redback system with 1 muffler before I went the 3".

Sounded good, but it was a tad droney at 70-80km/hr. But wide open throttle and hard acceleration it sounded great.

I have a rear resonator and a muffler on my 3inch, sounds good too.

Id be perhaps looking at a new rear loop, they're cheap enough and if you do ever get stickered, its a matter of unbolting the rear loop off and bolting the quiet one in.

All I have on mine is 3inch single from extractors to resonator and tail pipe and sounds sweet although not quite the old school sound at idle.

keep the hotdog because suprisingly enough doesnt effect sound that much unlike a resonator, however it clears up the truck sound your reffering to. Puting a straight through pipe on a stocky windsor will get it sounding rough and droney. you can try if you want. Plus, systems also brun in after a good long drive. When you get new mufflers etc, take it for a good 2 hour drive on the highway.

I would replace the middle muffler with a aero hooker or any of the lukey designs. that will get you what you want, can even just put on a very small middle muffler. That will get your sound up, but keep the hotdog on.
