Ba/F sedans have terrible diff mounting bushes, they split all the time. If its a cop car, they`ll be torn out for sure. The turbos and the v8s have the large 'dana' type diffs, they dont give half the trouble the natmo six type diff does. [b]

Yes it is all true the diffs/cv's yn the ba-bf's are terrible! i used to work at ford as a mechanic and everyday they would come in requiring replacment diff or new diff bushes, its a fairly common problem, with some of the ba's and bf's they would change the entire rear diff/suspenion cradle under warranty, everyting from taxi's to GT's had these problems ,with cop car might be lucky if the bushes/diff may have already been changed, the workshop was full if them, the utes and wagons werent much better,we were constantly replacing the diffs as whole units under warranty,i know tell your mate to fit a 9 inch under the back of his xr,haha,cheers...Vito.

Yes the diffs are s**t. We had ours replaced in our Turbo and then our GT and now our Super Pursuit has started whining after only 800k's!?!
At least now I'll be able to fit a 9" easily.
Dana(now Hardie Spicer = Junk) I'm afraid.

THE ONLY REASON THEY FLOG OUT IS COZ THEY GET BELTED AND IF THE BUSHES ARE KNACKERED THEY AXLE HOP BADLY. IF THEY AXLE HOP AND YOU DONT LIFT OFF THE GO PEDAL YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH SYMPATHY FOR IT.

In a sedan....it's difficult. I would think a DJR developed 9" centre section(like they did for the Seirra's) would be the best piece to adapt but they are probably unobtainium these days?
I would have yelled but that would have made me look like an idiot

I will try and find out for the 9" diff conversion, I know someone who was looking at doing it but not sure if they did it. If your worried about the diff just put a Kaaz and don't lower it

I don't think Kaaz do a centre for the 8.6" diff yet.

Is the diff in the sedans the same as the utes? If so, Kaaz have centres for them, I have one in my ute.

Yes all V8 and Turbo have the 86. All others have the old 78 series which is all that Kazz had centres for not so long ago. Thing is if they do an LSD for the 86 now, it still doesn't fix the problems with crown wheel and pinion.
