as far as i can find out a jg37 is a standard bore block so i think it must be fairly standard.

hmm interesting i've pulled the pistons and rods out and there the originals they got FoMoCo stamped on em but its got a roll master timing chain and clevite bearings the motor has sat around for quite a while and as far as i can tell it hasn't been rebuilt before no gasket sealant or anything like that

here is the full list -:

L = Broadmeadows Secondary Line

The next two digits represent the actual model:

11 = FUTURA SEDAN
12 = FUTURA TAXI

22 = FALCON TAXI
23 = FALCON 500 SEDAN

33 = FALCON GT SEDAN
34 = FAIRMONT SEDAN
35 = FAIRMONT WAGON
36 = FAIRLANE CUSTOM

The next 2 letters represent the month and year of manufacture and the last digits are the serial number.

That should answer your question - Engine type is determined by engine code on compliance plate if you post the code and year model I should be able to find if its H/C or L/C 4V 2V etc
