Insurance mobs are too variable. Brother rang up about his XR6T before buying it and coulnd't find anyonee below 2800! A few weeks later Just Cars were downn to $1700! That's a big difference!
I go through a broker (Greater National Insurance Broker) that someone on here recomended and it got my insraucen ddown to $330 with all the mods included!

I am with shannons - they are good, cos they allow unlimited mods.

I got a quote from vigil, and they promised me they would do a better price than shannons - but did so by making the agreed value $16k less than shannons.

Wouldn't have a clue - I don't pay them any thing extra if that's what you mean, I think they get a cut from the insurance comapnies. But the cheapest I could find anywhere else on my own was $550 (and that was before I fitted extractors which generally are a no no!)! So quiet a saving there!
And yes it is full comp!

I've been having insurance issues at the moment with my EL XR8. Bit of a bastard it being slightly modded and being under 25. Was with SGIC but they said that they would cancel my insurance if i put in my new stereo because it will come to more than $3000 a load of s**t.

Just cars have a s**t excess, shannons won't insure me as I am under 25 and vigil don't insure XRs like the guy said before (going by their online quote). As I am a member of RAA I did an online quote with them and ended up getting contacted by a different insurance branch of RAA called H2P insurance.

These guys will cover any mods even if you are under 25. The girl I talked to on the phone said that just before she rang me she was talking to a guy that has $20000 worth of stuff done to his engine alone and they insured him no worries they even insure drift cars. Im still looking into them at the moment but Im pretty sure Im gonna go with them. At least I can put my bloody new stereo in my car.

i had the same problem as you....my extras were worth more than their value of the car...so RAC cancelled it on me....im sure if u ring vigils they will insure u as they specialise in modified cars.....
so i can have a blower or a couple of turbos hanging off my engone, but if its got XR written on it they wont touch insure it ???? i find that very hard to believe....
