my car revs out to 6450 round abouts its an auto so i suspect it shouldnt, the stock tacho says redline is five, but my monster is telling me its goin to nearly 6500, am i gonna blow my motor.

EFI 5.0L windsor??? Is this for the EB???

If so the factory cutout is 6250rpm. Either the monster is wrong or there is a chip in there with a higher cutout.

I wouldn't be revving the motor too hard if it is stock, peak power is 4500rpm, so revving past that is pointless anyway.

The V8's don't have a rev limiter, well EF/EL's don't so I guess its the same for the EB/ED

I think you'll find there is a rev limiter.. 6250 but it takes some time getting there...E7 heads are so restrictive!!!
Imo the rev counter is wrong!!!!
With std springs I wouldn't go past 5.500 rpm..There is no power above 4.800 anyway.[Pre AU, excluding Sprint and G.T]...Redline and rpm cutout is two different things...

^ agreed. Have seen mine "bouncing" off the limiter at 6250 with my own eyes, but very little to be gained at these RPMs... unless destroying the poor thing is considered advantageous...

You can hear when it's not enjoying life... and you can feel when the E7/HO combo runs out of puff... not much point going any harder than that...

I've got an EFII XR8 and they sure do have a rev limiter. Have bounched off mine a few times with the hypo donk using a standard ecu.

Yours is obviously too choked to get the revs up that hi.

I've bounced mine off the 6250 rev cut a few times, they don't sound happy up there off the guage.

Strange, i've had mine near 6300 - 6400 and never hit it.....engine isn't choked either man, it's a very healthy engine with quite some $$$ spent on it......i'll admit though they it doesn't make power after about 5500rpm cause the cam runs out of puff, i reved it that high accidentally, forgot to move the auto shifter

Just an ex cop cluster so its off the dial, thats why i guessed it at 6300-6400rpm, goes right off the end, don't want to test how far it will go either, too much at stake!!!!

mine (AU2) hits the rev limiter at about 5700 or thereabouts... doesn't feel like enough after having the old Mini pull over 7000 easy. i want more revs but don't wanna sacrifice the bottom end...
