What is this and what does it do.
The donut looking pipe above the airbox. 
As its is missing from my V8 its been blocked off on the tube, Do i need this part or should i leave it as is how its blocked off on my car.

It is for intake resonance tuning. It is better to have it there but if you remove it you'll never notice the difference. If you modify the engine in any way it really needs to be retuned therefore it becomes redundant.
Tuning the intake resonance has advantages with backflow damping. Pete. |

So no one knows that the name of this part is bugger must be a holden part not a ford part if no one knows what it is lol
