I think i missed a bit there, how do the ozzy ho motors get exhaust back into the manifold and through the egr if they dont run the same emission setup as the yank motors?
I just want to know how the exhaust gets from the heads to the egr, if the transfer ports are blocked up?

Exhaust gas is obtained from the centre exhaust ports of the heads....there's a passage through the back side of the exhaust ports to the one at the manifold face. When it gets up to the valve near the t-body it's metered through the valve by a vacuum signal that is regulated by the EVR(EGR Vacuum Regulator) which is controlled by the EEC. The EEC sees how far the valve is open via the EVP(EGR valve position sensor) The EEC therefore, has feedback on how much Exhaust gas is flowing so it knows how much fuel to pull out(Exhaust contaminated inlet charge cannot burn as much fuel) and how much extra timing to add because exhaust contaminated inlet air is harder/slower to ignite. This happens mostly under medium to heavy acceleration...which explains the fuel economy advantage.

The best way to fix your corroded coolant barbs is to drill them out and tap for brass fittings.

Thats an awesome explanation.Thanks.
I was advised to bin the egr by a reputable business, but i have since found the company in question is dodgy anyhow.
So i decided to bin their advice instead :D
Let us never speak of this company ever again
I do like to try these things :P

My pleasure greeny,

Yes another bit of poor advice is to remove or not refit the Charcoal canister and the purge system. All you're doing here is wasting fuel vapours that would otherwise just go to atmosphere. might aswell burn I say.
