Yeah the Ford Racing 70mm T/B i used to have had the same Allen Key type adjustment, made adjusting the TPS a walk in the park.
Dutchy, my offer still stands.

thanks Jeff I will take you up on your offer but I want to try a different ECU first and dont want to touch much else so the place cant blame me if the idle isn't sorted once the ECU is changed, so it might be a few weeks from now

With the stalling part.... if your revs drop with aircon on, then your ISC is not working. Also if you are stantionary with the car on at idle and you turn your steering wheel left and right and the revs drop....then your ISC system is definitly f**k . It could be the unit itself, wiring connection, engine harness or ECU.

The last resort to identifying a problem should be the ECU, but it doesnt hurt to get it tested to eliminate the ECU. My ISC would work when cold then stop working when the car got into normal temp range, finally after a while the car wouldnt start altogether beacuse there was no injector pulse coming from the ECU. It was the ECU telling me its on its way out, none of the dash sensors worked in my car either whihc was also ECU related. I got the ECU tested and it came back faulty so i got it repaired, and that fixed all my problems.

Take your ECU out and get it tested (cost about $80), this will either identify the problem or eliminate the ECU from being the problem..... are there any other problems with your? besides the whistling?

Where would you get the ECU tested? Many here would no doubt appreciate a heads up :)

One thing, Chris. I'm pretty sure you've said the isc is disconnected, right? So if you do change the ecu, then you won't know if it's going to work because the isc won't be able to do its thing. I don't know if what you have planned with Pete, but I reckon it would pay to take the 2nd ecu to them so they can plug it in, reset the base idle and reconnect the isc so then it can be determined if it is running correctly and if it was the ecu at fault. In my opinion, plugging another ecu in without those 2 things being sorted at the least, is a pretty daft idea.

Yeah i think you are right Chad, but they have told me if it is the ECU thats the problem once the new one is in it will idle much higher when started than it does now so we will see if there is any change. I should be seeing Pete this weekend so we will see how it goes

Looks like the idle driver in my ECU was shot, thanks to Pete we tried a different ECU and the idle was much higher. I also taped up the ISC ports and there was no more whistling so it looks like Chad and Brett were both right about that

Well, I'll be a teenage girl backstage at an Aerosmith concert! I seriously didn't think it would be the EEC. As I said before though, I'm glad that's it. Hopefully you'll be driving around with big smile across your face sooner, rather than later. Would be keen to catch up one day and check her out and maybe go for a cruise with a few boys. :D

yeah I didnt think it would be the EEC either, its off to the exhaust shop next week for 2 new mufflers and rear pipes and then it will go back to have the idle reset and the tune finished off, it would be good to catch up so I could checkout both of your setups

Yeah, we'll have to tee something up once you've got the exhaust and tune done. Have to keep in touch.

Saw your car at Dom's yesterday, dutchy. He started it up so I could have a listen to the whistle. Sounds very much like mine, but is louder. Hopefully the new eec and tweeking of the tune will sort it out. Also witnessed its grumpiness at start-up.

A very unassuming car though! You're going to shock the hell out of a lot of cars on the street, I'm sure.
