i am considering selling my NF2 ghia v8 and was wondering what anyone thinks it would be worth. There are some pretty ordinary fairlanes for sale in the high teens but i would consider mine as one of the better ones around and would appreciate some feed back. I am in the search for more power and am in to two minds between spending money on the nf or just buying an Au3 xr8 or similar which are getting quite cheap these days.

cheers.

Unfortunately the market for big cars is very down at the moment so I can't see you getting a lot or probably what you want for your car.

Depending on how much you have put into your car already and how customised it is, I would weigh up how much changeover it's going to cost you and how much you'd plan to spend on the AU.

Don't want to put you down but I know someone who just bought a NF II Ghia with 17's, exhaust, lowered for just under 7K, so they are getting cheap. I also know someone else who is having trouble getting high teens for his FBT, so they definately aren't pulling the money that we would like them too

I say keep your car as you've already put money into it, and go ahead with GT40P heads and a bigger cam to get it AU3 XR8 spec or better cause I reckon it will work out cheaper that way

I was gonna sell, im fairly confident i could get what I payed for mine, but that being said i cant afford the car i really want nowl so will stick it out n save some moolah - my tip is to do the same or work it to what you want for a fraction of the money you would loose selling it!

Its a nice NF mate; its just old, as is every single E series.

I can honestly say I wouldnt buy a pre 2000/02 car now no matter what; thems the breaks. :(

There's one in the papers around my area going for 11,900, which is in good nick, 130,000kms and has the full ticky bodykit. F**k cheap for what it is....

Your better off keeping it I say, what are you going to get thats going to be quicker (besides an XR6 :) ) without having to spend a shedload of cash?

How much are AU3 XR8's going for. I'd love one of them...

I just paid 11,300 from a dealer for an NL Fairlane Ghia '98, 5.0L V8 - 128,000kms with tint, wheels, full leather, electric seats, etc: Was pretty cheap considering most private sales were higher than this and I get the three month warranty....
