None of the above, I want to turbo the 351W short motor stored in pieces, but in reality I will probably turbo the fresh short block 69 Windsor as that one is fitted with hypereutectic pistons and the biggest cost is it needs heads etc.

The 351W on the other hand needs everything: It needs to be bored, new pistons, cam, crank reground, heads, intake, etc. $$$$$$$

Just thought I'd point out that a 427 is not a "Shotgun".
The Shotgun name was actually referring to the Boss 429 which of course is a 385 series big block and not an FE big block like the 427 which could be had in wedge or SOHC form. The SOHC 427 had a Hemispherical combustion chamber and the Boss 9 had a Crescent shaped combustion chamber and was often referred to as the Semi-Hemi.
Also the "Dove" head term for 385 series engines is really just the engineering number for the std 1970 429/460 heads which is D0VE. D0 meaning 1970. These heads had no real advantage over other 460 heads.
But I certainly agree with the choice generally
As for myself I will be building my 390 into at least a 416ci capacity very soon. and I'll probably drop my CHI heads onto a World 427 short someday and stick it into my Van...the 4.0L is making me ill.

Pete.

I'd go for a stroker Clevo, built for massive torque with not to many revs needed, just like shnoza said I love the feel of being thrown into the back seat when the fun pedal hits the firewall :)

M 6010 A96 Ford Racing block
M 6049 E460 Ford Racing heads
4.625 bore
6.00 stroke

Thats 806 cubic inches of goodness. 10.4:1 comp, mild hyd roller, should see 1.2 Hp per cube easy. 970 odd Hp that idles like a stocker......

I wont even contemplate the torque figures.

Oh, and yes, that equates to 13.2 litres.....

Yep forgot to mention that.

Well I am far off the mark, I thought I read there was NASCAR (not street) heads originally built for them using hemi chambers and street heads got the Crescent, my mistake, probably because Ford sold aftermarket true hemi combustion chamber heads in the eighties.

Nice choice

I would be happy for the engine to be square, I would still have 10ltrs and more torque than I would be able to use on the street (without boost), I would use the aftermarket BOSS type design heads, just for that massive look and the mother of all mother truck size turbo, running alcohol so I didn't need an intercooler  (f**k I can dribble crap)

Have you ever seen that video of the 2000+ turbocharged registered drag car driving on the street (I have the video but I can't seem to find it), he hits over 130mph in a few seconds, total lack traction, personally I think he was a f**k for where he was showing it, on a street among traffic.

I'll have mine as a small block, 8.2 deck with a 3.25 stroke + boost thanks.

Where's BOSS (Modular) on the poll? The Yanks are making some really nasty powerful modular V8's.

Agreed.

I would take a BOSS over any of the polled option.

Yeah but they don't start with the poor combination we start with, they either start with the 4.6 which is actually designed to rev using those DOHC heads or forced induction on the 5.4.

When Ford Australia get it right and bring them out with real low down torque like a V8 should have then we might put it on the poll, the Ford boss of the time said Aussies should be after torque not horsepower, but then release a V8 which has no real low down torque from the factory, just after that KW rating when stupidly using a truck designed bottom end. (What a wanker)

It is bad to see in one of the latest car magazines that they quote the GT has the lack of low down torque not the Holden, that same engine has now been out in Australia for over 4yrs.

Either bring them out with a much bigger bore to increase capacity or bring over the 5.0L cammer, "OR" factory screw type supercharger, now that would be cool.
