Cleveland - the blocks are much better in standard form than the windsor even if the oiling system needs some tweaking.

Is it the BOSS that has the Windsor bottom end and the Clevo heads? Why not make that the third poll option?

4V clevo's, best breathing V8 by a mile. Windsor's are close behind with their rev capabilities, thin bores are their only downfall!

Am I right in saying that the windsor packs nicely into tight spots being a little more compact :?:

The windor would definately have to weigh less, but is a weaker block, especially the last of the castings

I know there are some damn fast windsor powered cars (down to 6 second passes) what kind of times have clevos been doing/done?

Having owned both in very recent history I can't really decide. The choice is really made in the car you are working on. Obviously my EF has a Windsor and I love it, but if I find that XB Coupe I've been looking for it will be getting a cleveland (although it too will be fuel injected).

I'd say overall I like the Clevo. In stock form it's got huge ports. More potential for less $$$$ IMO (Although aftermarket parts manufacturers like windsors).

302 clevo vs 302 windsor I know what my money is on.

The CLEVO they rev hard with grunt to match. I used to love emabarissing XR8 when they come out with my good old XD GHIA.

As a quick Q? What would a stripped cleavo block weigh? Would it be a one man lift?

The Clevo is easily the superior engine.

People forget it is actually a nwer design then the Windsor it was only tightening emission laws in the US that killed it off & where as the Windsor was designed originally for dragging along big seppo luxury barges the Clevo was designed with the intention to race.
Look at the results from the engine master series in the US the Clevos have been killing the Wheezers despite there being no where near the hot up gear available but the simple fact is Clevos don't need it.

I could come up with so many reason why the Cleveland wins hands down but since I know we all have such short attention spans here's my top 8
1. It is far easier & cheaper to get power out of
2. Is a much stronger block that can handle much higher power (you don't see Cleveland owners mucking about with nancy boy stud girdles & so forth)
3. Much better head design (hence why it took so long for aftermarket heads to come available for Clevelands we don't need them)
4. Clevo's can rev harder & stronger
5. Cubes are good & the Cleveland will take a longer stroke & more cubes (the 351 windsor motor isn't really a car engine it's a truck motor)
6. There is no other engine that can match the sound of a Clevo a droning Wheezer doesn't even come close
7. The name Clevo sounds far cooler then Windsor
8. More Bathurst wins
