I'm currently swapping over from a i6 to a v8 at the point of swaping over the wiring looms, the loom has been taken out out of the XR (not by me), My question is dose the hole dash have to be pulled out to do the swap or can it be done thro the glove box??? any one done this conversion that can shed some light??? or even better any one want to help?? :wink:
It's a el auto i6 and i'm using a ef xr8 manual

Man, thats a big job.
And as i understand it you will have to remove the whole dash.

Unfortunately the whole dash needs to be removed. Just for your info the BCM between EFs and ELs are incompatible. I think it'll work if you use an EF computer with EF BCM or a EL computer with an EL BCM. Please keep us posted on your progress mate... i'll be doing a 5 Litre conversion on my EF Fairmont soon too!!

yeah we took the dash out of both cars and swaped them over so now my cars 50%ef and 50%el but we haven't swaped the ing barrels over so here's hopeing
