speaking from experience, i have just fitted an ea cfi motor to my xf ute. not as simple as people think, but it can be done. i had to swap over the complete loom, everything. I also sort of fitted the dash... although I have no windscreen heaters yet. still a work in progress. be warned, you may need to do something with the alternator mount, the alternator hits the front crossmember.

Sorry guys, been out for a while with a new girl.... and this one's made from flesh. Damned women, keeping me from my car and all.

Project might be on hold for a bit. The EF I thought I had isn't really mine (my Dads keeping it for a door-stop atm - a bloody waste I tell you!!), but I still reckon I can twist his arm.

Anyway, just about to check that site mentioned earlier. I suppose if it's been done then that mean's that it CAN be done [sic], but it's a case of time at the moment. And money, always money.

More update soon!!!

engineers is what will f**k you. emissions won't be an issues, provided you don't have to modify the chassis it'll be ok, but engineering is still bloody expensive.

Lucky if you live in SA - no engineer required when replacing a 4.1 with a 4.0/3.9. Just need to fill in a form for the change in engine number and your done :)
