Hey there guys and gals..

I am in the process of fixing up a XG ute in much need of love..

It came into my possesion with a EF tickford motor and five speed manual installed but running on the XG ECU..The engine bay was a mess and wiring everywhere.Coolant/expansion tank was relocated to the front and air intake up the back RHS? Anyhow..

I have decicded to install XF fairmont ghia interior (full dash, door trims, ect.)into the XG
so my question is if I get a EF loom and ECU for the engine can I splice this into the XF ghia loom to run the digital dash and everything else such as air con, lights, wipers ect...

Thanks in advance..

It would be easier to fit an XH dash. You could get the entire wiring harness, dash, and ECU from an XH and it would all work nicely. The rest of the XF trim will still fit, and will look nice.
Good luck.

Mate
XH came out 1996 same as EF except xh had log maifold and dizzy, EL has a dizzy and broadband manifold. If you can get a xh main loom and swap your xg loom and use a ef/el cluster and ecu you should be ok

gassa

that's how i did my au motor swap
much easier way than trying to mate it up with the xf gear
and imo the cluster looks heaps better (especialy the xr6 types)
