don't go raging at me for even bringing such a thing up but just out of curiosity i was wondering if there is at all a legal way yo add seats into the tray of a ute. I know it is a stupid idea, i have been looking for some laws, but i cant find anything that really helps

Perhaps if you used proper seats and belts and enclosed it AND added a rollcage?
That'd be the main safety aspect I'd assume. |

yeah for a registered vehicle and really i dont know why, i twas just something i was wondering, it is one of those things i may never do, but i was really just wondering.

As far as I understand it, provided you got it engineered, had the roll bars, seats and seat belts it would be legal. You're allowed to carry the number of passengers you have seatbelts for.

I'm not sure about Qld, but in W.A. and S.A. it is illegal to have people riding in the tray of a ute full stop.
