... are XD or XE manual V8's?

i'm looking for a V8, 4 speed Falcon or Fairmont to rebuild, in parts or complete, but i've only found one so far, after many months of advertising.

are they really valuable and no one wants to sell up??? or are they just really uncommon???

what are they worth in good, bad and average cond?

Ive seen alot head to the car crushers after having the running gear removed. Why dont you just get a 6 and convert it to an 8.

I wanted to get a complete XD/XE so i knew i had all the parts i needed, but i may be swinging towards buying all the parts seperately, ie engine from failane or something, parts from wrecker etc etc.

youre right, if i cant get a v8 car to use as parts/rebuild then i'll use my XE i got now and buy parts to convert it.

There is a difference between a 6 cyl and a V8 shell. As when my xd shell was bought from ford it was a V8 shell. not sure what differences there are but I would assume it is in the front end.
