this is my new car but its 40 years old!

my bf bought it for me I have always wanted one! this is what I wanted instead of an engagement ring- he still bought me a ring!

its a 1965 ford mustang coupe runs 289 small v8 with 3spd manual which hangs a mean skid!

small amount of rust in the two rear wheel arches and is an original california car with plates and all paperwork

soon to be resprayed at brames in ballarat the fire truck red!
with gt decals in the lower half should look a real treat!

the interior is black leather/vinyl and all it really needs is a roof lining and dash pad which should be here next week from the us!

converting the front drum brakes to disc - any help on this one is appreciated!

and the car is left hand drive and I have no intention of converting it!

it drives well we drove it all the way home from dromana which is past Frankston on the otherside of melb to Ballarat so it did well!

Hello mswyld

you have no idea how lucky you are, I wish i got a mustang for my engagement ring hahah, I love mustangs and one day will get one. i hope you have lost of fun with it too. There are plenty of sites on the web for mods to these things, and also a mustang forum in aus too.

Just make sure you post pics along the way

That car is hot as!!!. Excellent choice of engagement present.

If only all women thought like that.

Congrats on the car.

Congrats on the engagement!
Great car, '65 Mustang, a classic. Its a pretty good example judging by the pics, all the chrome and badges are in good condition thankfully, such things can be expensive and hard to find at times.
I think you will find that the brake system on the Mustang are similar to that of old Falcons, so upgrading to front discs shouldnt be to difficult. I believe that you need a brake booster to operate the brakes to if you are to use the disc brakes.
