Hey i am currently doing up a xf ute and i have a spare engine i was going to build up. i am fairly new to engine builds stroking it had peeked my interest and i was wondering what was involved in stroking a 4.1. i also heard you could put an ef crank in the 4.1 which is fully balanced allowing it to rev harder.

Yes you can. you need a late model block (86DA) which has the EA rear main seal and it goes in no worries.

Other blocks you machine out the rear main to take the late model seal.

The stroker option requires 200 ci rods with a 10 thou offset grind ef crank. Unfortunately this means means special pistons which acl dont make no more (barstards) so you need forgies.

UNless your revving over 6k don't bother.
