hey guys
im jus curious to why this model has a speed limiter on it? is it because the tailshaft isnt built to whitstand speeds over 180 or is it a safety feature. any info would b good.

1: the long tailshafts get pretty unstable at high speeds
2: XR's got the alloy tailshafts, stronger and lighter, so the limiter was removed
3: its a safety feature, even the best tailshaft is a possible weak link when you're hurtling down the highway at 200+

i note neither of you live in the territory, so i take it you only want to remove the limiter for racing, right? if not, you're bloody idiots if you think its acceptable to do such speeds on a public road with a speed limit

My xh DOESN'T have a speed limiter nor does my EB. My EB is an S Pack that had all the xr options bar the engine and badging applied at the factory but I know it doesn't have an alloy tailshaft. (found out about limiter LEGALLY!!)
Makes you wonder if as the cars rolled past on the line they threw limiters on some and not others.

I don't understand why people would want to remove it in the first place??? I mean, your not going to do those sorts of speeds on a public road, you won't be goind that fast at the end of the quarter...

Whatever blows your hair back I suppose... :D

ok so i got an xg 5 speed and it always cuts the rev's at 5000rpm, is that the limiter? and i can only seem to get her to about 185 at most, and dont worrie, its not on public roads, its on my family farm driveway, long and paved with nothing but grass either side, perfect for flat bickie driving.

Hmm well I live in the Territory and strangely enough my XHII V8 doesn't have a speed limiter or a rev limiter...but after I saw those pics of datamines blown tailshaft a few weeks ago I don't think Ill be going that fast again....
