Hi guys looking at these for my XH ute, standard height.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/215-75R15-100-97S-Nexen-Roadian-AT-PRO-in-Melbourne-National-Freight-Roadstone-/161315504126?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258f273ffe

Will they fit? I'm thinking they may hit on upper control arm?

Cheers

Why not just get 205/65/15 tyres?

I live in the middle of nowhere and sick of getting flat tyres, I'm fairly certain they will fit as Outback utes had 205 75 standard.

Cheers

Fair enough.

Should fit as you would be more concerned with the width and I know that I have 235/245 on a 8" rim and there was no rubbing, mind you that is with 17" rims.

Fair enough, I'm curious to know how close it will be to the upper control arm with 225 75.

Talk to the Tyre mob and see what they think, you mught need to do a test fit.

probably not, i have 205/70R15's on my ED and they only clear the upper part of the upright by 8mm.

I've found that on SLALS front ends you need the correct offset wheels and then a 205/75R15 is just mm from the top joint. In fact on my EB I found that not all tyres of that size will clear the suspension.

I just went through this with an Outback ute again. We trialled 215/75R15 as the size opens up more possibilities but these tyres came uncomfortably close in static conditions - I wasn't comfortable that would be the case at 100+ on a rough road.

If you want the most trouble free solution the Firestone Destination A/T 205/75R15 fits just right. These tyres seem pretty good too, at least so far. The Firestones were OEM on these vehicles albeit an earlier technology tyre.

Forgot to add i am running EF/EL 15" steelies, something with more dish/less offset would allow more clearance

I have 235/60R15 tyres on genuine 15 x 7 mags, and they will rub the ball joint in hard cornerning, but at Hwy speeds, is ok.
The total diameter of the tyre is 26.1"

On an EB I had to run wheel spacers, longer studs and they were still close. I am unsure but maybe Outback wheels are more negative on offset than standard.

My XH has aftermarket Sunraysia type rims pretty much same as OEM anyhow. I need two more so I'll grab the details once I get a rim off to check the stampings.
