Can anyone help me with what the biggest wheels and tyres combinations i can fit under an xb fairmont sedan, rim width, back space and tyres size? i just had the car fitted with 2" lowered pedders sports suspension. I've read up on how to work this out but if anyone can tell me what combinations they have used it would be helpful. Ive only just got my car so im sure i will have plenty more questions but for know im just starting with wheels
Thanks Steve

With 2" lowered springs 15x8" rims/225/65 tyres will scrub on front guards under full lock- 20 yrs ago I learnt this after the spending $$$$ and being assured by Bob Jane T mart that they would fit. The look of tyres/ rims is a matter of opinion I guess, but the fact is anything bigger than 15" in rims is a step backwards handling wise, as the chassis dynamics are not suited to low profile tyre/ large dia rim combo's (plus they look terrible in my opinion). In regards tyre width, I would not go for or see the sense in anything wider than 8". If the issue is cosmetic do as you please I guess, but I reckon to really stand out get a set of original rims and fairmont hubcaps and fit the tyre size originally recommended or maybe an inch wider or maybe a set of Ford 14x6 sports road wheels from the period if you can afford them..... thats what I reckon would make your Falcon really stand out.

I had a XC sedan with 15 x 7's with 215/65's on the front and 15 x 8's with 265/50's on the rear. It looked tuff, handled well, and with the rear lips rolled, never scrubbed at all. You have to get the right offset/backspace rim though, some will work, others will scrub.
Good luck.

Yes, I own a Ute. No, I won't help you move!
