Look for rust, being an XB it will have it.Check around the A pillar at the front of the car and also check the floors, roof, rear beaver panel, sills, gaurds etc.

Remember its a old car. You'll be hard struck to find a cheap straight rust free example.
Might wanna look for a unfinished project. Seem to see a few that have had the rust repaired then left.

Yeah, I understand that you will find it hard to find a nice body with a 30+ year old car.. guess im just going to have to save some more dollars to buy a good one..

LOVE to see a nice XC on here. My mates dad had one but swapped it for a horse so he could ride it to the pub and home. 1 night while standing on the horses back to pick apples from a tree the horse took off

What a waste!!!

yeah its disappointing sometimes to find out the one you were hoping for was a waste of time. but then again some times the best deals come to those who wait. I've had mates buy turbo'd EL's for under $2000, Jeeps for $4000 and sell em for $10,000. even had a mate find a 98 5speed XH XR8 for less than i paid for my straight 6.

keep at it and you'll find a beast

Do you know if you can place a 302 or 351 into a TE Cortina? and have it registered in QLD.. i've been looking around to find info on it but no luck so far..

If they let a V8 into a Corty, may need to upgrade the brakes.
