Hey Guys/Girls, I just went to my local Performance Exhaust Mechanic and I am getting a new stainless steel performance muffler and a 3 inch tip put on my 1987 xf falcon... will it be loud or just a nice growl?? Thanks much appreciated

Well the tip won't make a difference - apart from cosmetically, and the muffler depends on what it is, you'd be best asking the muffler man.

Also are you just going a stainless muffler on the massive 2" stock potentially rusted out anvil(no I don't mean mandrel) bent exhaust?

Yeah stainless sports muffler straight onto the old pipes... Thinking of getting a complete system put on it not just the sports muffler.... Cheers

ive got extractors and a 2 1/2 straight through exhaust on my 87 spac and it sounds great
ive had ppl ask me if its a V8

mate, it will sound like a 6 with a louder muffler - the only people who think its a V8 will be people who haven't heard many v8s - just keep it legal and without too much drone (i.e. don't be tempted to go too small on the muffler - talk AND LISTEN to what the muffler guy says and emphasise that you want to keep it legal!! Your eardrums will thank you and you won't get defects...

Cheers, yeah i got a sports muffler and its still really quiet but it has changed the sound a little bit!
