As many of you know by now I own an XH ute (you may also have worked that out by my user name!!! ). What I wanna know is this:

Ford released a special edition xh longreach (which mine is). They left the factory with cruise, rollbar, a/c and best of all ELGT flares. There may be other things that I don't know about. Did this ute have a special name or was it simply a special edition? There are no extra badges on it but it has been resprayed so they may have been deleted.

Does anyone know? I could ring Ford but I am too lazy (and maybe postwhoring a bit  )

I know this prob isn't much help, but "longreach" didn't mean GT bits did it?

nope

cant say i've ever seen an XH ute with EL GT flares, seen a couple with much smaller lip style flares

special editions afaik were only the "Splash" and the optional tradesman/1 tonne/outback packs

have you got a pic of one of these utes?

Its not an outback or a tradesman. The only decals are the Longreach ones. I am tteh utes third owner and have been assured by the previous owner (whom I trust) that it left the factory like it.
Anyone else know anyhting about em? :?

That be the one. The flares look lik ELGT ones (I think! :? ) Also had factory alloys (obviously I changed 'em). It also has flash seats in it (for a ute). They appear to be cloth sports seats. But it doesn't have an s-pack dash. I'm starting to wonder if, because it is one of the last of the XHs, Ford had a heap of parts laying around and slung 'em on whatever was around. The only thing shooting this down is that I have seen 2 others like it (but only fleetingly)

Its a six (the EB type induction). The wheels were similar (but not the same) as longreach wheels. They were 15*6.5s

Yeah, WHS.
There are XHI & II brochures on the Fordforums website but IIRC I didn't notice any pics of splash utes, or special editions etc.
Doesn't really matter. With 98% EL wiring and an EF BEM, electrically wise there's plenty you can do to make your XH unique. Similarly mechanically wise as well.

You have a point there . . . . . :P

But a few nice haves like Climate control, ABS, Trip Computer, Cruise, etc make it a bit more refined.

early in the piece I coundnt find any info on my xh xr8. I think ford had a field day and made them up with what ever they had lying around.
hell I got the longreach steering wheel. But to the point I dont think there was a special edition, not that ive heard of one anyways.

Yeah I just had a real good look and a bit of a think and the build date is dec98. Maybe Ford had a heap of parts left over from the e-series that wouldn't fit the C**k and started slinging parts on everything!!!
