Alright guys it's been a while. I been where internet is not an option :? . Anyway, The old XH has undergone a bit of a facelift. I was in the right place at the right time and picked up a written off AU V8auto ute. After a bit of stuffing around The motor is in and running. Problem is that I was unable to source the right wiring loom. I located the loom for the passenger side so the ECU etc is all working according to plan. But the trans is proving problematic. Whilst the plan long term is manual cogshiftin. I am forced for the minute to use the auto. I can't get the TCM to talk to the trans so the old girl is in limp home mode ie 3rd gear. As I can't locate the wiring loom I need is there a way to bypass the TCM and do the gearshifting myself? I figure theres a couple of guys here that have helped me out before with electrical issues before so Im hoping theyre still kicking around.
Cheers for any help 8-)

The TCM is in the ECU on an AU , even with the 5.0s.

I didn't use the s**t from the AU. I converted it back to dizzy etc and used an EL ECU so had to use a TCM. I don't have the wiring to connect the TCM and EL is different.

No idea if it will work stand alone or if it ultimately still needs the TCU but here is a unit that fully manualises the BTR.

As I said no idea if it will work stand alone or needs to interface.
Email them and find out.

Welcome back dude.
$190 seems a lot for a temporary thing.

Can't get a TCM and wiring for the EB-EL V8's ??
Probably the EA/EB1 I6 stuff might be easier to find - I think you'll need the piggyback TPS setup too??

IIRC it was asked on here whether an EA/EB1 6 cyl TCM would work with the V8's, can't remember what the verdict was.
I think that was in the long thread on modding TCM's - V8 forums or transmission I think.

Wiring: gearbox-suspension-brake-driveline-f4/tcm-shift-kit-t123665.html
fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/using-el-ecu-transmisison-control-on-ea-eb1-t31287.html

PM XR9UTE or 66 coupe maybe ?

Stoked I found this thread.
The Dog, I've sourced and AU XR8 donor car for my XH (6 cycl). Although I plan on using all the AU wiring and BCM (if I can) rather than doing e series dizzy set up. Was yours a 6cyl or an 8 cyl to begin with? Any advice you could share about motor fitment?

Trying to source as much info as possible before grabbing the spanners.

I've posted my own topic also
