not really a workshop question but i did'nt know where else to put it, so anyways i was wondering is there any difference between the body shapes of the XW Falcon & Fairmont ?? i mean the panel shapes and all. it just seems different to me for some stupid question and i just needed to double check it with fellow fordmodders.

cheers

body panels are all the same, just body trims/mouldings/badges and interior trims/badges are different.
so holes for badges and stainless trims are in different spots

Most of the GT replicas made 15-20yrs ago used Fairmonts.....had same interior trim, just add badges/paint.

thats what the plan is, paint is too bloody expensive. i am stuck in dilemma now.....whether to get it painted and then work on the engine or work on the engine and then get it painted. engine not really a priority but come to think of it, might as well get them both done together.

also would you guys know how much a 351 cost to rebuild ?

Think of a number double it. Now tell me what you want your 351 to do and i'll tell you if the number you thought of was e'nuff. Depends on condition of heads & what good bits you want or what really good bits you want.

What he said lol sky is the limit my alloy CHI 3V's cost over 5 grand alone, to get my block preped was 2500 then add stroker kit, intake, carby, dizzy, alternator all nice flashy go fast bits got no change out of 20 grand easy, so if you want to go sill like i have then you have to spend on the gear box making her stonger to handle power then you got do your diff as well oh and of course if your going to have heaps of power you better do a break upgrade lol it never ends more money more money  if you just want to freshen her up you could get away with it for 3grand but once you go down the performance road leave an open check
