hey fellas and fellarettes
i have a question. What are the gear ratios of an LSD out of a ZJ that had a 351 in it? secondly, will the diff centre go straight into my EA without throwing the speedo out? cheers guys

They were usually 2.77:1, for the fuel economy, and will fit into an EA diff that was fitted with 2.77's before, BUT, if the EA diff is a 2.92, I don't know, I haven't had a chance to test that one.

ah ok cheers mate. i have absolutely no idea what diff gears are in my EA, i thought 2.92 only got 45km/h in 1st, but i can get 70 out of my first gear

What year model is the EA?? Is it pre 4sp auto??? The early ones, pre 4sp auto, as in 3sp auto had 2.77 diffs, and the manuals had 2.92 diffs. The 4sp autos had 3.08 diffs.

Thats what mine is, so it will have a 2.92 diff in it. Mine had its 180,000km birthday today on the way to work. Mine is a 4/88 EA S sedan MPFI manual with factory fitted LSD. I have sinced fitted an EBII diff housing, with my axles and LSD centre, but with the 3.27 gears from the EBII diff. So now I can drain my oil with out taking the back off the diff. I had to make spacers to fit the EBII housing, coz the bottom brackets on the diff are wider than EA. I also welded braces on the bottom brackets.

factory 351 diffs are 28 spline same as the eb serie2 diff the 6 cyl in 302 diff are 25 spline like ea. prob a 2.77. have seen a 2.53 in a ltd
