hey all, been a while since i posted on here, but i have a question regarding interiors

hubby brought a ZJ Fairlane the other day (302 and c4 - i think its a c4..) anyhow, the zj interior is quite crap..
we have purchased a 85 zl fairlane, coz it was cheap and in reasonable conditon to get roadworthied, but we are thinking of swapping the complete zl interior into the zj.

im sure things like seats and trims are a piece of piss to swap over, but what about the dash as a complete unit and the zl digital cluster?
we are leaving it as the stock 8 for now - in the future its gunnna become worked.
the zl dash doesnt use the ecu to drive it does it?
can it be done?

i have workshop manuals for both the xd/xe and xf range, so tech drawings shouldnt be a problem.
just thought it might be a nicer interior to use.
(oh, the zl we got, is an 85, in a goldy colour, with only 256000kms on the clock - and we are gunna wreck the car - see my other post for the motor and where thats going)

ideas thoughts etc etc appreciated.
cheers

oh - we arnt gunna put the trip computer into the zj with the zl dash, leave that as the clock for now, coz i dont think its worth the effort to even think about trying to make that work correctly with a trip computer.

The heater is your biggest problem.
The firewall is different on the XF/ZL to fit the bigger heater box.
