heeeeeeeello papa smurf,
thought you would be the man in the know, iv got a FG XR6 and i want to put a bigger intake on it, iv got the ss inductions big mouth kit on it and i want something else but i dont want a growler or anything stupid, which would be better, FG XR6t or FG XR8 snorkel and lower box? or are they the same?
also with intake mods and putting a 2 1/2 inch sports system on it, will i need to get it tuned or will the computer adjust itself?

The intake and the Air cleaner assy need to be changed. The 6cyl Turbo is the same as 6cyl standard but the V8 one has a MUCH larger intake, you are looking at $200.00 for the parts.
As you are in Victoria you might want to try FTG wreckers, they used to sell a kit to do what you are want to do and YES, you will need a good tuneup. :D

The number is 8R2Z 17700 BA $55.40 but you will have trouble finding one as Ford can't supply them at the moment.

papa smurf

this will probley be out of left feild, but, what would i need to turbo my FG XR6, obviously i need the turbo, the turbo manifold, the cross over pipes, cooler and the exhaust, iv been told the xr6 and the xr6t internals are the same, is this true? just though you would be the most clued in person for the difference between xr6 and xr6t's part wise.

Block, Crank and Cams are the same but the con rods, pistons and head are different. You would also need to change the PCV hoses as well radiator?

Matey, if it were me doing what you are considering I would rather be going for a new motor or at least a good second hand Turbo motor. You will also need to change your ECU and it could get rather costly. Don't foget the Turbo onto your motor would stress it a lot.
