I'm after a good runner to drop into my car for the time being, this one is going to die soon.
Not after a perfect low km engine as i am going to rebuild mine, just need something reliable to keep me going for a few months... must be cheap lol.
Just to add, an engine without any accessories is fine.

Paul, give McWhinney's wrecking a call and see what he can do for you. When I went in there a week before moving, he had a heap of ef and el's in stock, including a couple of f/ghia's with the ticky motor.

Thanks Tim i'll give them a buzz, i don't like dealing with wreckers though, they are always the last resort.
I might actually try Sydney Rd wreckers aswell, have looked after him and a couple of customers he sent to me so will see how i go.
I'd be happy if i got something that goes as good as mine used to.

Sydney Road has a complete AU2/3 XR6 engine complete with VCT Paul...go on do something special with the SVO icon_smile.gif.

Having an EF with no dizzy - you'd probably only need matching ECU with some wiring mods I reckon !

Andys Autos have an NF engine that looks alright - dunno how much the Andys want...ask Andy senior as he's always lost lol.

hahaha both Andy's are good blokes, have drank with them at the local pub, old Andy loves his EL GT.
Don't think i could be stuffed going to VCT, i'm not as keen as i used to be.
I'm hoping the XD will be going back on the road after xmas, i might have scored a good running ZJ Fairlane with a 302 for free, thats if Jeff gets off his a*** and calls his brother for me.

I got an EB engine here with about 10,000 k's on it, been sitting in the garage for about 7 years now, i could easily slap the timing gear, sump and head back on that but thinking about using it for my rebuild.
Would definately prefer EF/EL as it has provision for crank angle sensor and also knock sensor, i wanna do this in a day to save having the car off the road.
Don't care if it's a Tickford or stocker, best part about the Tickfords was the 3.45 rear end lol.

Bump!!!

Once i put an engine in i'm seriously considering selling the car, i think 7 1/2 years is long enough.
Sell the SVO, the 90 Capri in the garage and also my bike and should be able to get something nice, should give me close to 20k to spend.

Any takers? hehe

I'd sell it right now as is, but convincing the missus is the hard part, she loves it and doesn't want to sell it.
Only way to do it is to find something that she likes.
I heard about an ED Ghia 5.0 yesterday, lowered, XR body kit, SVO rims, my mate said it was very clean, the guy wants $7500 (maybe a bit steep) for it but she turned her nose up at the mention of it.

Well last night my engine decided to say no more, it was using a s**t of oil and has been underpowered for a long time.
It's spewing oil out everywhere, hard to say but i think it's done a chain guide and worn through the timing case, at the same time it split the rad tank open.
I'm waiting on a couple of calls this arvo, but i think i might re ring the EB engine tomorrow and drop that in, will only cost me $160 for rings, timing chain kit and a few gaskets that i need so i think thats the go.
Waiting on a call later today from a mate about a very low km EF/EL XR engine and will make my mind up from there.
