seat timing? please explain

a rocker ratio change will alter timing at lift, ie the point of 50thou lift will alter and so on. full lift will be at the same point.

seat timing won't change, it's the same camshaft, it will begin to lift the valve off its seat at the same point and it will reseat the valve at the same point.

One thing to remember that the dynos they use over there are a fair bit different to ours. They read considerably higher than what ours do. I assume their baseline run was on a stock configuration. 250rwhp with e7s and ho manifold? I think my car as stock with e7s and ho manifold made 170 odd rwhp, then with u/d, maf, exhaust and tweecer I got 211rwhp. Stock US over stock Aussie, there's around a 30% difference at the wheels! If you take the 30% off their final figure, you're looking at around 250rwhp...

the one i'm talking about was all done on an engine dyno,

they also make mention of the difference between STP and SAE correction factors, in this case it was 251hp STP or 225hp SAE. (which is almost spot on what that particular engine is rated at by Ford.

Oh ok, when I read the details of the car they used I assumed it was done on a chassis dyno.

It might have paid for me to read the article icon_smile.gif
