Hey people - just tryin to help out a mate.
He is looking for a reasonable quality ford 9" Diff....
If any one has one to sell - or knows of one.
Please let me know.
He said he will pay up to $1000 for one (I dont know if this is the going price???)

$1000 sounds about right, but why does he need a 9"?? Make sure he realises that they weigh about 100kgs* more then a normal LSD!! I know they're more durable but its a trade-off isn't it?
Tell me how you go.
*unsure about real weight, but its a lot. |

I think he is building a pretty mean old school car??
No idea what - but he said he needs a 9" diff - so im just seeing what is about...

I can assure you it they don't weigh 100kgs, because I am pretty sure I couldn't lift 100kgs, they are heavier but probably no more than 20kgs (I am unsure about this too).
They do have the other trade off of using about an extra 5hp over BW differential, depending what it is used for, it might be required.
Have you checked the online trading post?
I have a braced Ford leaf spring 9", disc brakes (XE-XF bastard type) in pieces, but the centre is only 3:1 two pinion open wheeler, it isn't the best converted housing I have ever saw, but if you mate has no luck in the next month or so, contact me, I am in no hurry to sell it but I don't know what I want to do with it at this time. |
