if were talkin about smartlock remotes and it just stopped all of a sudden, it might be the switches inside the remote. if its the original remote, they're startin to get pretty old. my EF doors button died a little while back and all i did was take the old one out and solder the new one in. a new switch is around 80 cents at d**k smith.
also the remote battery had a fair bit of corrosion around the terminals so give em a clean if there the same.
cheers and good luck |

if it a smartlock remote it wont matter as u dont need the keypad to open the doors or start the car.
sounds like he has a imobiser that is turned off/.onn with his keypad and the keypad has gone to sleep for ever ! !! |

| I had the same problem about a month ago and I had to pay $50 for someone from Gary's Car Radio to come out an un-immobilise the thing. Took him about 2 minutes. |

If you check out on your kick panel on the drivers side or up underneath the steering wheel/dash area you might have a small red button.
This is your manual overide.
From what I recall on another car, you put your ignition to ACC, push or hold the button and then start the car. Not all cars have this, but you'd be surprised at how many actually do.
This will at least get your car started and get it home or to someone who can fix it properly.
Also a nice tip for you budding car thieves out there |

| thanks for that, will have a good thorough look tomorrow. i eventually towed the car home from work with a rope! i disconected the siren so it wasnt obvious and towed it with the alarm going off. |
