|
|
Hello all
Im thinking about having a go at respraying my EL. Wont be going stupid, just a rub back, bit of bog here and there, primer and finally some colour in stock regency red (really wanna go blood orange but dont have time, space or cash to go pulling things out and apart to do door jambs, engine bay etc)
need to find a place that'll hire out a booth, and supply the gun, bake the thing etc. I figure i can do it progressively while still driving it, rub it back at home, go to booth for primer, rub back etc then go for the final colour coats/rub backs and clear
So if anyone knows of anywhere, please let me know
Cheers |

It'd probably be cheaper, better, easier to prep the car yourself in your own time, and let the professionals do the rest for you. Probably halve the costs of a respray. Then youre just paying for consumables and the labour to spray the thing..
Thats what i'll be doing for my fairmont. |

| Yer what Waggin said, I'm a panel beater by trade and I wouldnt even respray my own car, painting a single panel isnt to hard but respraying a car there is a lot that can stuff up, and at least if you get a pro to do it they have to fix their stuff ups. |

Oh! I was hoping you'd do it first, so you can give me some hints. LOL
Hopefully I'll have Sir Guru MRE-40L to assist with the pre-paint preparation.. along with the preparation requests from the chosen paint shop.
I've got a few paint shops who I plan to approach.. Some family friends, some I've done IT work for, others are friends of friends, plus i'll try a few off the street too. |
