hey all
my mum has a 2002 Fairlane AU s2.
the climate control display area is currently not working right. you cant read the display properly because its basically stuffed lol.
the numbers are only half displaying and half the time you cant work out what the numbers are (eg the number 7 or 4 would like the number 1. and if you see the number 1 wouldnt know if its 1,4 or 7. The number 8 would look like the number 3 so wouldnt know if 3 or 8 is being displayed)
also, u cant read things like "overspeed", "ave litres/100" which would appear on the screen.
i could get a pic of what im talking about if people are confused
I wanna know how this can be fixed. Somewhere i serviced the car said that the crystals inside the display are stuffed up and it might mean i need to get the whole thing replaced which can cost alot. He wasnt 100% sure aboout his statement he just said that would be a guess.
i thought it was as easy as changing climate controls like in EF's & ELs but this crystals thing he was on about threw me off a bit on my thoughts
ANy suggestions? ?? Would i need to replace the whole thing with a new one, or can it be fixed or can i just replace the display area from another au lane? (which would be hard to find) |
