| Trying to remove a double din unit from an AUI XR. Seems that the release clips on one side are broken. Any suggestions on how to get the unit out? Can the stereo surround be removed first to make things easier? IF so, HOW!!?? |

thanks for trying LOWNA but i ended up getting the s**t with the unit, ramming two butter knifes down the one side that was stuffed and ripping the @#%*er out!!! Where the release clips did not allow it to come all the way out i used a hacksaw blade and cut them from the unit.... All in all it would have looked pretty funny watching me do it but the new Pioneer unit is in and it looks great! sounds great too
Cheers

| Ah, good s**t mate, glad you worked it out. Nothing like using a knife, sorts out all sortsa probs lol. Finally fitted my splits today, its only taken me 8 weeks. Cant believe I did without them for this long, makes such a HUGE difference to the sound:P |
