Hey guys,

I am in two minds of just rebuilding my gearbox or buying another 2nd hand one.. But i'm not sure, I wouldent mind just rebuilding my box, or fixing whats wrong with it and strengthening it a little.

Problems with my box currently are:

1st 2nd 3rd 4th are fine, but when it goes into OD it really clunks in, also feels like it slips sometimes in between gear changes, example, if I drove it manuelly and changed it into 2nd, back off the accelerator, I can easily pump the accelerator a few times before it actually hits 2nd gear..

Thats about it really, Just want to know what peoples opinions are on what I should do, I'd preferably keep my box, but... ???

I have also tried a service, that dident work..

Cheers

A while back I found a place in mel which did tranny rebuilds. They talked themselves up heaps and these were 'heavy duty' rebuilds. For towing and 'street' aplications IIRC

There is a mob in melbourne that'll build you a box to similar strength of a XR6T auto....its been mentioned here and on FF.com.au. $2500 or something

Otherwise, mal wood will build you a T5 hybrid (e series box with T5Z bits) for 2 grand, up to you then to find all the other bits.

why not try and save some money by getting it serviced they will adjust the bands and change the filter and oil for only around $150 ,that might be the only problem which will save u alot of $$$$
