Well the obvious option would be to point the finger at the underdrive pulleys but this is not very common.

Do you:

Spend lots of time in heavy traffic?
Have extended periods of idling?
Have a fully-sik stereo?

IIRC the underdrive pulley will not see the battery charging too well below 1500rpm...

Maybe you need to give her more revs icon_wink.gif

Grab a multimeter and see what voltage she's charging at (naturally you'll need to bring it over 1500rpm).

I've got the pulleys on mine, plus a big stereo [drawing 150A+), and I spend lots of time in traffic at night (headlights) and I haven't had any battery issues.

It may well be the end of your battery, or alternator.

yeh, sounds a little low for my liking. 13.8-14V is the lower end of Ideal.. especially if the alternator is charging the battery (straight after starting).

From memory mines around 13.4V at idle (with underdrives!) and jumps up to low 14's from 1500rpm.

Bugger. At least u know what it is now.

When the alternator went on my E30 BMW, I was quoted $750 2nd hand, $1100 new, and because of these prices all Auto Elecs were quoting $400-600 for reco work! $280 aint too bad!

Nah, sadly different.

I dont know why all car manufacturers can't use a universal Alternator mount!
