Dyno reading from my EF - 5 speed, K&N filter, AU snorkel, Pacemaker extractors, full 2.5" Lukey exhaust.

I know it runs rich, but 100kw? I was thinking it would pull more than that...

Am I reading that right? 769 Nm of torque?

If so then something is wrong somewhere?...

Don't get me wrong - this thing still pulls and is far from being a slug!

When I saw that reading and talked about results from the mainland with similar mods, his only reply was that the dyno's must be tuned differently.

That's where the wtf factor comes in icon_lol.gif

thats more torque than a typhoon, and less power than a BA xt, something strange there.

I think dyno needs calibration...that's a whole lot of torque icon_eek.gif

haha u guys dont realise that torque figures like that dont work straight off a dyno, the only accurate way to measure torque is knowing the tractive effort equation and working backwards knowing all your ratio's etc

the torque shown there hasnt yet been divided by the diff ratio's etc, if its a 3:45 diff at a guess your looking at low 200nm at your rear wheels.

in my 250xflow i ran 250rwnm and 80rwkw, so mine made more torque meaning it was a more powerful motor down low however being an ohc u were able to pull further then my xflow could and were able to squeez 20 extra rwkw out of it thanks to the 1500 rpm mroe u have between our peak power points

do u understand the torque to power relationship?

p.s i think your motive force is wha ti know as tractive effort

Wouldn't happen to know what other cars pull on that dyno would you?
A relative known, something like a stock XR6T?
Either way, I wouldn't stress, chassis dynos are tuning tools, nothing else.
It's pretty much impossible to compare one dyno reading to another.
I propose that if anyone wants to compare dyno readings, they all have to have power runs on a DD in shootout, a DD in non-shootout, the JMM dyno, a mainline dyno, and the Summernats DD HP hero dyno, then an average taken from all these figures icon_lol.gif

As for rich, 10.5-11:1 AFRs are about normal for a falcon at WOT.

That's the info I was after!
Am running the stock 3.23 gears, therefore the 769.6NM/3.23 would give me ~238NM

No idea what other pull - he's more of a Holden dude icon_sad.gif

I'm far from stressing on the figures, as I have seen on here the varaince in dyno readings.

Once Howell's are up and running with their dyno (should be early this year, could already be done!), I'll be heading there as I know these guys won't BS icon_razz.gif
